How to Keep Your Daughter Safe at College

In doing some research, I found a really neat "kit" for your daughters off to college adventure. Of course you should have a Defender (self defense weapon) in addition to this kit. I hope you enjoy this and it gives you something to think about.

The murder of Chelea King

I'm so upset at this murder by a sexual predator that I can't see straight. I wrote an article about what we all need to know for our self defense, and it applies to college students just as well. Please check this out... we are our first and last line of defense for our personal safety. http://www.pdws.biz/Female_Students_feel_less_secure_because_of_the_Chelsea_King.html

This is very important to understand

I wanted to point out the four rules of violent attack so that students can recognize when they are in trouble. This is a link to my martial arts site but the rules are the same for college students. I was reading and posting about a sexual assault victim who went through all four of the rules during her attack. Very sad for sure. In this article which I will link here... you can read about what she did during the attack that ultimately lead to her attackers arrest... only if she had a self defense weapon and a little understanding of violent attacks...

Women's Self-Defense - Understanding Body Language & Pre-Attack Indicators

College students.. this is a good read. It starts to show you that there are signs that attackers use to show you what they are just about to do!

Women's Self-Defense - Understanding Body Language & Pre-Attack Indicators: "Predators will exhibit unconscious body language cues prior to a full attack. If you start seeing these unconscious verbal cues and your gut is telling you something is wrong, activate your self defense plan and get distance between you and a potential predator."

Welcome to Be Safe at College

I teach martial arts and have had years teaching womens self defense. My twin girls are in college now and I am watching the horrible violent crime stats rise across America on college campuses and I wanted to do some thing about it. College safety is paramount for our kids! Women get murdered every year, raped, assaulted and robbed. We need to do some thing for our kids other then put our trust in the campus police. Not that they don't do good things but these crime stats are scary!

So, I'm going to start to put up articles and options for us parents to help our kids not be a statistic! I have my main site (http://www.selfdefenseweaponsite.com) for my self defense weapon and for sure I want parents to know about that but I will also bring other weapons, strategies, plus articles for their purusal.
